Gaza clashes

SILENT night, holy night. All is calm, all is bright… except in Gaza where tens of thousands of Palestinians are dead. And many more would continue to die because of America’s veto power that has put a stop to a ceasefire.

The ceasefire between Israel and Hamas is set to be extended for two more days following mediation efforts led by Qatar, just hours before the initial truce in Gaza was set to expire.

In an interview with Al-Jazeera Mubasher released today, Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil said the four-day ceasefire is something that Malaysia, along with Indonesia and other Muslim countries, has always welcomed but is still hoping that a permanent solution can be found to end the conflict.

Malaysia unequivocally condemns the countless attacks on healthcare facilities in the Gaza Strip by the Israeli Occupation Force (IOF) that have resulted in hundreds of Palestinians casualties.
