SEPANG — The RM49.90 ‘Rahmah’ tickets for the Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix (MotoGP) have been a huge hit among local motorsport fans, particularly those from the B40 income group.

Introduced by the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) for the Malaysian MotoGP in 2023, these affordable tickets are available exclusively to Malaysians.

Without these affordable tickets, 48-year-old Arul Dass admits he would not have been able to give his sons and nephew a memorable Deepavali experience at the SIC.

Speaking to Scoop at the K2 Hillstand, Arul shared, “I’m a local Sepang boy, so I’ve been a regular here, even back when Malaysia hosted the Formula One races. Last year, I even came on Deepavali day.

“This year, thanks to the affordable tickets, I get to bring both my sons (Nishant and Dinesh), my nephew (Kumanan), and their friends to watch the races over two days (Saturday and Sunday). It’s a little Deepavali treat for all of us.”

Braving the intense heat, many with ‘Rahmah’ tickets enjoyed the unique experience and panoramic view of the action around turns two, three, and four of the circuit.

Another enthusiastic fan, Muslim Sawfi, commented: “I used to get tickets in the C2 section, but K2 is where the real action is.

“Just look at all the fans here with their umbrellas and mats; the festive atmosphere is priceless. I believe this is the cheapest MotoGP ticket in the world.”

Alongside the MotoGP race, fans can also enjoy the Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup (IATC), Moto3 and Moto2 races, and have access to the vibrant Sepang Circuit Mall Area. — November 3, 2024
