KUALA LUMPUR – Manchester United winger Antony Santos has taken to his social media channels to address and refute allegations made by his former partner Gabriela Cavallin, who accused him of physical abuse.

In his statement, Santos said he had been wrongly accused, asserting that he “(have) been a victim of false accusations”.

These allegations emerged after Cavallini claimed that the Brazilian footballer had physically assaulted her on several occasions during their relationship.

Earlier reports from Brazilian media indicated that Cavallin had filed a police report in June, leading to Santos being called in by the authorities to cooperate with a domestic violence investigation.

Santos expressed his obligation to address these accusations publicly.

“Out of respect for my fans, friends and family, I feel obligated to speak publicly about the false accusations I have been a victim of.

“From the beginning I have handled this issue seriously and with respect, providing the due clarifications to the police authority.

“The police inquest is under cover of justice, and therefore I cannot make its contents public.

“However, I can say with 100% confidence that the accusations are false and that the evidence already produced and more to be produced show that I am innocent of the accusations made,” Santos posted on his Instagram.

In his post, the 23-year-old Santos also raised concerns about the “changing nature” of influencer and DJ Cavallin’s statements regarding the accusations.

While acknowledging that their relationship had its “tumultuous” moments with verbal disputes, he denied ever engaging in physical aggression.

“Every time, whether in testimony or in an interview, she presents a different version of the accusations.

“Thus, I come to deny the accusations made and inform that I remain at the full disposal of the Brazilian authorities to clarify what is needed in this case,” he added.

Cavallin had alleged that Santos had assaulted her multiple times, including an incident where she claimed he threatened to throw her out of a moving vehicle while she was pregnant.
