KUALA LUMPUR – A woman was seriously injured after being trapped under a container lorry and dragged about 80m, following a motorcycle accident at the roundabout near the Sultan Abdul Samad Mosque at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) yesterday.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar said the accident involved two women who were riding the motorcycle.

The department received the emergency call at 3.22pm, prompting a team to rush to the scene.

“A team from the Emergency Services Assistance Unit (EMRS) and machinery were deployed to the scene. 

“Upon arrival, the firemen discovered one of the victims, who fell and got stuck under the tyre of the container lorry, was seriously injured but was successfully pulled out by the firemen. 

“Her friend suffered minor injuries,” he added.

“The two victims, aged 25 and 39, were then taken to Cyberjaya Hospital by the EMRS and an ambulance for further treatment,” he said in a statement. – July 13, 2024
