KUALA LUMPUR – MyHSR Corporation Sdn Bhd chairman Datuk Seri Fauzi Abdul Rahman claimed that his WhatsApp application was hacked last week, cautioning against buying into “his” message about borrowing money.

He said he has been receiving calls from family and friends asking if he was trying to borrow money.

“I have been telling my contacts not to believe the message as my WhatsApp has been hacked.

“Getting duped is one thing, but I’m worried that others would get hacked by clicking on the link. I hope that people don’t fall into this,” he was quoted as saying by Bernama in Indera Mahkota, Pahang, today.

Prior to this, he said he received a link inviting him to a religious event purportedly involving the Prime Minister’s Office.

He lodged a police report on Sunday.

Fauzi also advised those who received his “money” message to delete it, and anyone who fell victim should go to the authorities. – April 3, 2024
