KUALA LUMPUR – Motorists with personal vehicles heading back to their hometowns ahead of the Raya festivities will get to enjoy toll exceptions on April 8 and 9.

The Works Ministry said the exemptions will be applied at all highways from 12.01am on April 8 and will end at 11.59pm the following day.

Hari Raya Aidilfitri is expected to be celebrated on April 10 and 11.

However, the exemptions do not apply to the Sultan Iskandar Building (Johor Causeway) and Tanjung Kupang (Linkedua) toll plazas.

This initiative will cost Putrajaya RM37.6 million.

In addition, the Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA) will activate smart lanes in 18 locations along the PLUS highway to ease traffic congestion.

The ministry also advised motorists to plan their journeys beforehand and adhere to the travel time advisory issued by the MHA.

Drivers are also advised to download the MyPLUS-TTA mobile application to check the travel advisory. – March 28, 2024
