KUALA LUMPUR – The Putrajaya IOI City Mall will remain closed today as Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) may require additional time to resolve the power outage issue.

In a statement, the mall’s management said that TNB has identified multiple faults and is currently working on rectifications.

“However, TNB is not able to guarantee when they will be able to restore power supply due to the complexity of the issues.

“Therefore, in the best interest of all our good tenants and customers, our mall will not be in operation today, allowing TNB more time for their rectification works.

“We thank you for your patience and understanding and look forward to welcoming you back very soon,” it said in a short statement posted on its official Facebook and X platforms.

Earlier today, it was reported that the mall was facing a blackout due to a power outage and will resume operations between 1pm and 5pm.

It is believed that the outage occurred at 12.45am this morning due to a power disruption at the TNB plant, which supplies power to the mall.

Meanwhile, TNB confirmed that the power disruption was caused by a faulty incoming cable located 2km away from the property. – March 28, 2024
