KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysians stand to enjoy a reduced rate for traffic and general compounds issued by Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) between February 1 and 29.
Errant drivers will be fined RM10 (motorcycles), RM20 (cars, MPVs, and small lorries), RM50 (buses and lorries) for traffic offences, and RM100 for general offences.
In a Facebook post, DBKL said this special rate – in conjunction with Federal Territories Day – is not applicable to foreigners and blacklisted offences.
Also not eligible for the special rate are offences under Transportation of Materials (WPKL) 1997, Pasar Borong (WPKL) 2002, hiring undocumented migrants under Trade, Business & Industrial Licencing (WPKL) 2016 and Hawker Licencing Act (WPKL) 2016, Hotel Act (WPKL) 2003, Entertainment Act (WPKL) 1992, Federal Territories (Planning) Act 1982, and Roads, Drains & Buildings Act 1974 (ACT 133).
