KUALA LUMPUR – The Stars on Fire World Tour 2023 event was cancelled despite the government’s approval due to “unforeseen circumstances,” including low ticket sales.

Three organisers – Yess Boss Group, Heart-Art Production and Dembi Productions – partnered to bring Bollywood stars to Kuala Lumpur for the concert

Previously, organisers who had planned for the concert to be held on December 1 at Bukit Jalil National Stadium decided to postpone it after receiving poor responses in ticket sales.

According to a letter dated November 28 from the Yess Boss Group, to the central committee for the application for filming and performance by foreign artists (Puspal), the concert was to be postponed to an undetermined date.

“We have been forced to postpone the concert due to unsatisfactory ticket sales and other unavoidable matters,” the company said in the letter sighted by Scoop.

However on November 30, in the video uploaded by Heart-Art Production, Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan said that while he was looking forward to returning to Malaysia after eight years, a decision was made to cancel the tour.

“Considering the current challenges and out of deep respect for the well-being of the people in Malaysia, we have all made the decision to cancel this tour. My prayers and thoughts are with you all,” the international celebrity said.

In the post’s caption, Heart-Art Production, said that the concert was called off in light of unanticipated circumstances.

It also said that it had collaborated with its ticketing agent to streamline the refund process and provided the contact details of a customer support team.

While Heart-Art Production has turned off the comments section of the post, it did not stop platform users from commenting on an earlier post by Yess Boss regarding the postponement.

Netizens expressed their displeasure over the move, as some also complained that they did not receive an official notice from organisers informing them of the date changes and subsequent cancellation.

At the same time, Yess Boss also cited “unforeseen circumstances” in postponing Indian composer Karthik Raja’s concert, which was scheduled to take place on December 2 at the same venue.

The announcement was made on November 17. – December 5, 2023
