KUALA LUMPUR – The police will record PAS’ Kepala Batas MP Siti Mastura Muhammad’s statement next week in response to her alleged defamatory remarks against DAP chairman Lim Guan Eng.
Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) chief Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd said Siti Mastura’s questioning is scheduled for Monday.
According to a Malay-language publication, Shuhaily said the investigation is being carried out by Bukit Aman’s Classified Crime Investigation Unit.
“Siti Mastura’s statement will be recorded on November 13, 2023 (Monday),” he said
Shuhaily explained that the case is being investigated under Section 505(b) of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communication and Multimedia Act 1998.
In a 46-minute and 51-second long video, Siti Mastura accused DAP veteran leader Lim Kit Siang, who is Guan Eng’s father, of being related to long deceased Malaya Communist Party leader, Chin Peng.
She also claimed that former Singapore Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew is Kit Siang’s cousin and alleged a familial association between Guan Eng’s wife and Seputeh MP, Teresa Kok.
Siti Mastura further accused several DAP leaders, including DAP secretary-general and Transport Minister Anthony Loke, DAP national vice chairman and Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming, Bruas MP Ngeh Koo Ham, and Teresa, of being family-related.
Following these allegations, Bukit Bendera MP Syerleena Abdul Rashid filed a report at Brickfields police station on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Guan Eng, in a statement released through his lawyer, announced that he has initiated legal action against Siti Mastura after giving her a 48-hour ultimatum to retract her allegations. – November 11, 2023
