SEOUL – Building an inclusive digital nation will be the main discussion topic among policymakers during the Policy Leaders Forum 2023 at the GSMA M360 APAC event held in South Korea today.
Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil, as head of the Malaysian delegation, is scheduled to deliver his keynote address at the two-day event held at the Westin Joshun Hotel here.
The session will also include a panel discussion on strategies used by governments around the world to build inclusive digital nations, which are making concerted efforts to integrate digital technologies, connectivity, and services into every sector of the economy.
The goal is to achieve inclusive and sustainable economic growth by placing digital infrastructure at the centre of nation-building and socioeconomic development.
On the sidelines of the event, the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) will lead the sessions with South Korean game companies, namely NX3 Games and Smilegate, to discuss possible collaborations in the gaming industry.
MDEC is currently in active discussion with NX3 Games about setting up a studio in Malaysia and connecting with Malaysian studios for outsourcing work and universities for talent recruitment.
Meanwhile, Smilegate is looking to onboard Malaysian intellectual property on their publishing platform and is interested in partnering with or investing in Malaysian game development companies, as well as exploring the possibility of establishing a Smilegate development studio in Malaysia. – September 7, 2023
