LONDON — A group of happy Malaysians were fortunate to meet King Charles III at a reception in London recently.

The Oct 2 function, which was also graced by Queen Camila, was held at St James’ Palace as a prelude to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) which will be held in Samoa from Oct 21 to 26.

Among the lucky Malaysians were Commonwealth Medical Association President Dr Muruga Raj Rajathurai, whose association represents 56 Commonwealth countries.

The past president of the Malaysian Medical Association is also chairman for the Malaysian chapter of the World Health Tourism Council.

‘His Majesty thanked us for the work the Commonwealth Medical Association does and asked if the Commonwealth secretariat is giving enough support,” Dr. Muruga told Scoop when contacted.

“His Majesty was happy to know I’m from Malaysia and sends his regards to the people of Malaysia and the people of the Commonwealth,” he added.
