KUALA LUMPUR – The late singer Muhammad Nidza Afham Mokhtar, known by his stage name Nidza Afham, was laid to rest at Puncak Alam cemetery near Felda Bukit Cherakah at approximately 6.30pm today.

According to UtusanTV, around 300 people – including family members, friends, and local residents – gathered to perform the “solat jenazah” (funeral prayers) and witness the burial of the beloved singer.

His sisters, Efahanie, 30, and Afrina Hanie, 21, expressed their deep emotions, overwhelmed by the large turnout at the funeral in honour of “Am”, the name Nidza Afham affectionately went by.

“Allahuakbar, so many people are praying for you, Am…

“Nidza Afham. You are someone special,” Efahanie wrote on her X account.

Afrina Hanie also shared her sentiments on X, stating that she was deeply touched by the fact that so many people continued to carry Nidza’s casket despite the heavy rain.

“Many people came to pray for you, Am. Despite the rain, they still carried your body.

“Ya Allah. Umi said you are an ‘anak syurga’ (bound for heaven), Am,” she posted.

Meanwhile, Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan confirmed that the initial autopsy results revealed no physical injuries.

“An autopsy was conducted, and the cause of death is currently pending further laboratory investigation. No physical injuries were found. Investigations will continue as a sudden death report,” he stated.

Nidza Afham was reported missing by his family after he went for a jog the previous night. His body was discovered floating in a river near the Sg Klang bridge late yesterday evening.

The late singer rose to fame with his participation in Season 3 of I Can See Your Voice Malaysia in 2020. He was also known for his song covers on YouTube, including a rendition of “Rindu Setengah Mati,” which has amassed 6.5 million views.
