In the video, Gurmit enthusiastically declared his preference for the Malaysian version of the dish without hesitation.

“Malaysia. No hesitation,” he said when Liew asked which version he preferred.

The video has garnered over 1 million views since it was posted.

Gurmit was seen ordering a variety of side dishes to go with his nasi lemak, such as bergedil (fried potato patties) and fried chicken, accompanied by a variety of curries.

Eating with his hands, Gurmit was seen embracing the local way of enjoying the national dish.

Liew, a local food vlogger with over 100,000 followers, also conducted a brief poll with Gurmit to compare his preferences between Malaysian and Singaporean versions of local dishes.

In the post, Liew also said that Gurmit would be in the country for his comedy show on July 20 and 21 at the HGH Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur. – May 20, 2024
