KUALA LUMPUR – The elder sister of Mila Sharmila Samsusah, better known as Bella, who was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend, was detained by the police early this morning.

According to media reports, Norhisham Samsusah was arrested after having her statement recorded at the Batu Pahat police headquarters regarding a police report made against her for allegedly violating the Child Act 2001.

It is understood that the report was filed by the family of the suspect who allegedly killed Bella.

According to the report, Norhisham recently posted a picture of a child believed to be the suspect’s adopted child while live streaming on TikTok.

Norhisham was then taken to the Batu Pahat magistrate’s court this morning to get a remand order.

Magistrate Nurasidah A. Rahman granted the woman a one-day remand starting today to assist in the police investigation.

The police have reportedly initiated investigations under Section 15 of the Children Act 2001, which stipulates a fine not exceeding RM10,000, imprisonment not exceeding five years, or both upon conviction.

Meanwhile, Nor Azhar Jamil, 55, Bella’s uncle, said that Norhisham is expected to be released at 5pm today.

On January 26, just two days after Bella’s funeral, Norhisham made a surprising revelation, stating that some of her sister’s body parts were ‘missing.’

The incident came to light as she and her mother, Noraini Salleh, 55, bathed Bella’s body at Sultan Ismail Hospital, Johor Bahru, after confirmation that the skeleton belonged to Bella.

However, last Monday, Norhisham shared that only Bella’s spine and hands have yet to be found.

She said that the investigating officer had informed the family about the matter, and efforts to locate Bella’s remains will be carried out as soon as possible. – March 13, 2024
