KUALA LUMPUR – The country’s number one tower runner, Soh Wai Ching, has won his third straight title at the Scale the Strat run in Las Vegas.

Wai Ching also recorded a new personal best, climbing the 108-floor Stratosphere Tower – the tallest free-standing observation tower in the United States at 260m – in six minutes and 43 seconds, shaving three seconds off his record from last year.

Japan’s Ryoji Watanabe was in second, recording the same time as Wai Ching, while home athlete Jason Larson placed third, taking eight minutes and 28 seconds to complete the tower run’s 1,455 steps.

“I’m so glad with the three repeat win!” said Wai Ching, in a post on his official Facebook page.

In both 2022 and 2023, Wai Ching topped the tournament by clocking six minutes and 46 seconds. – February 26, 2024
